Contest Rules & Regulations

  1. Vanity's Drag Star Challenge is committed to providing a safe and positive contest. Critiques from judges will be constructive and provided as a learning experience. Judging WILL NOT be destructive, condescending, or deliberately attacking.

  2. During the contest, contestants will be given a drag challenge for the following week. Each challenge is set to help the contestant grow as an entertainer and to make them think creatively and outside the box.

  3. Must be over 21 years old to participate.

  4. Contestants should be able to commit to participating in the 10-week contest challenges.

  5. Contestants call-time is 7:00pm, all music needs to be turned into DJ on flash drive or by email, no later than 7:30pm each week.

  6. Judging is based off of a total of accumulated points. There will be a top winner each week, and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner at end of contest. Scores are counted and available in real time through the online contestant portal.

  7. Contestants are judged in the following categories:

    • Lip-Sync
    • Music/Mix Choice
    • Costume/Look
    • Creativity
    • Audience Engagement & Response
    • Overall Performance
    • Weekly Challenge Completed

  8. Prizes Include:

    • Weekly Cash Prizes for top contestant.
    • Over $2,000 in cash and prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
    • Show Bookings (Including a hosting spot).
    • Crown for 1st place.

  9. Contestants will be able to earn each extra points during the 10-week challenge to boost their scores (details provided during contest).

  10. All contestants are exepted to show the venue, it's staff, the audience, and other contestants with respect.

  11. All types of performances are acceptable, except those that might cause injury to the audience or to another contestant. Pyrotechnics are not allowed. NO FIRE, LOOSE GLITTER/RHINESTONES, CONFETTI, SMOKING, FOOD OR LIQUIDS, including but not limited to water, WHATSOEVER without prior permission.

  12. Intoxication or the use of drugs or marijuana are not be tolerated on the venue premises.

  13. Contestants are requested to not walk around the venue and socialize in just make-up and regular clothes. Contestants should be fully dressed (NOT in contest costume) to socialize before each weekly contest.

  14. Vanity's Drag Star Challenge does not discriminate against any entertainer based on gender, race, sexual orientation, etc. ALL ARE WELCOME!
